We are less than 18 hours away from first pitch in Milwaukee and this is the final post of a five-part series of projections being featured on ‘Roll Out the Barrel.’ For the past two weeks, we have been highlighting every position and their projected 2013 numbers. Today we finish by taking a look at the Milwaukee Brewers bullpen.
Many believe the Brewers bullpen cost the team a chance to compete in the post season in 2012, as Milwaukee led the major leagues in blown saves with 29. As result, Doug Melvin gutted out his relief pitching and acquired multiple new arms in an attempt to change the tide in 2013. John Axford returns as the teams closer and he will be joined by Jimmy Henderson, Chris Narveson, and Brandon Kintzler who are also returning from last years club. But the bullpen will also feature numerous new faces, including: Tom Gorzelanny, Mike Gonzalez, Burke Badenhop, and Alfredo Figaro.
